How it Works

Extreme pressure/anti-wear protection

AR9100's extreme pressure (EP) additive forms a solid boundary lubricating film on friction surfaces, providing excellent load carrying ability under the most extreme operating conditions. AR9100 also incorporates highly polar esters that stick to metal surfaces, ensuring good penetration and protection of all engine components.

Reduced friction

The lubricating film formed by AR9100 reduces friction, improving efficiency and power. Reduced friction means a system will develop less heat and run more smoothly and quietly.

Engine deposit reduction

AR9100 will gently remove and disperse any sludge, varnish and carbon deposits that have built up in the engine. Continuous use of AR9100 will then keep the engine clean.

Extended oil drain intervals

Use of AR9100 typically extends oil drain intervals. AR9100 increases the TBN (total base number) of your oil which will help prevent it from becoming acidic during extended oil drain intervals. AR9100 also improves the oxidative stability of engine oil, reducing the rate of degradation. Oil sampling should be used as a tool to determine if extended drain intervals are right for your application.

Power Stroke application

6.0L & 7.3L Power Strokes equipped with HEUI injectors often suffer from hard starting, rough idling, reduced power and response and smoking until the engine is warmed up. Add a 16 oz bottle of AR9100 at every oil change to eliminate hard start and drivability issues caused by HEUI injector misfires in 6.0L & 7.3L Power Strokes.

How often should I treat my engine with AR9100?

To maintain the products benefits we recommend adding AR9100 to every oil change.

Can I add AR9100 to used oil?

Yes, but consider that if AR9100 is added to used oil which will be drained soon, the AR9100 will be drained with the oil shortly after adding it and would need to be replaced at the next oil change. If an oil change is coming up consider waiting until then to add AR9100 so it can be used for a full oil drain, or consider changing your oil when you add AR9100 so it goes in with fresh oil.

Do I need to drain some oil out when adding AR9100?

Yes, if you are adding AR9100 to an already full crankcase make sure there is room to add AR9100 by draining some oil out beforehand. Make sure not to add AR9100 to an already full crankcase, doing so will exceed your engines maximum oil capacity and can cause engine damage. For all Power Strokes remove ½ a quart (16 oz) of oil from the engine before adding a 16 oz bottle of AR9100. If you are adding AR9100 during an oil change make sure to use less oil so there is room to add AR9100. If your dipstick shows that the oil is below the maximum mark, you can usually add AR9100 without draining oil out.

For all Power Strokes remove ½ a quart (16 oz) of oil from the engine before adding a 16 oz bottle of AR9100. If you are adding AR9100 during an oil change make sure to use ½ a quart less oil so there is room to add AR9100.

Can I add to regular or synthetic oil?

AR9100 is compatible with both synthetic and conventional engine oil.

Can I add AR9100 to automatic transmissions?

No, We don't recommend using AR9100 in automatic transmissions.

My bypass filter filters down to 1 micron, will AR9100's additives be removed my bypass filter?

AR9100's extreme pressure additive is a nano material. The average particle size of AR9100 is 100 nanometers which is 1/10 of a micron, so AR9100 will pass through fine oil bypass filters without causing issues.

I just bought a brand new vehicle, when should I add AR9100?

AR9100 should be added to a new vehicle after it completes its break in cycle according to the owner's manual.

Will AR9100 void my warranty?

The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act allows consumers to use additives of their choice without their warranty being voided, except for in circumstances where specific additives have been noted as incompatible.

Is it OK to use AR9100 in motorcycles with wet clutches?

Yes, use AR9100 at 1.2 oz per quart of engine oil in motorcycles with wet clutches. Check the owner's manual beforehand to ensure it does not specify not to use friction modifiers.

every other oil change for all powerstrokes

added to every other oil change (rotella 5w-40 oil every 5k) on both my 7.3 powerstrokes, first time using expect the oil to be a bit darker from the archoil cleaning out all the crap deposited in the HPO system.

Using oil and fuel products in 2003 F250 Super Duty

I have been using the oil and fuel products in my 6.0 for years. They have added much life to the engine especially the injectors. Still going strong after 316,000 miles!

AR9100 in 2000 Ford 2.5L 4 Cylinder Ranger

I added AR9100 to NAPA full synthetic oil (Valvoline) at my last oil change. The Ranger has almost 140,000 miles, in top condition, runs great, so I'm keeping it that way. Now it runs noticeably better than EVER. I keep detail records on service and fuel use, so I can compare performance last tank, last month, last year, and weather - driving conditions. I'm getting about 4% improved fuel mileage, and depending on color of the oil, expect to extend this oil change interval from 5,000 miles to 7500. Thanks ArchOil.

Took a little longer

than 500 miles to stop smoking during startup. At about 1500 miles the smoking was greatly reduced. My '01 7.3L, 125k miles, was smoking really bad due to my lack of maintenance. Too many curves in life caused me to be lax on oil changes after four yrs of owning the truck whereas it never smoked before this time when doing regular oil changes. So I bought two bottles and after about 1000 miles I called asking if I should add the second bottle since it was still smoking at startup but not as bad as when I added the first bottle to an oil change that had happened about 500 miles earlier before adding the bottle. The customer rep said I should just wait until the next oil change and shouldn't double dose. I gave my email to him so he could send me one of their instruction tip sheets which he had offered to do. I said thank you for the info and hung up. Email shows up, plus he offered to send me a free bottle. I never asked for it, He just offered it to me! Great Customer Service! Also to repeat. that now at 2k miles the truck is smoke free. So the product works, just took longer in my case, but also I don't put a lot of miles on it each week either, less than a 15 mile commute each way.
